Eastern Mysticism is a categorical term that primarily refers to Far Eastern Thought which embodies Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Hare Krishna, etc. All are variant thoughts or methodologies rooted in Hinduism.
The origins of Hinduism began in India in what is called the pre-Vedic era and basically was the worship of a mother goddess and a horned bull god – directly linking back to Semiramis and Nimrod. Once again, the religious template of Mystery Babylon. Once the Vedict’s imposed their rule on the Indians, Hinduism became a philosophical merge with polytheism. This eventually evolved into a cast system – higher vs lower value.
In a nutshell, Eastern mysticism evolved to believe that all reality is part of one very impersonal force. It is important to understand just how impersonal this force is. In essence you yourself are an illusion! In fact, the goal is to transcend your personal awareness of self-consciousness and merge into the nothingness of this impersonal force. To the point, God is not personal and cannot be personally known.
Prayer and supplication are replaced with meditation to both empty yourself and disengage from thought, while Biblical meditation engages thought as an expansion of understanding God’s truth, often leading to deeper contemplative thought. Hinduism believes that desire is the cause of all suffering, that one must transcend one’s personal desires to attain the level of the impersonal nothingness force of Nirvana. As Gautama Budda practiced Hinduism, he realized it didn’t answer life’s purpose, and came up with his own noble sayings and eight 12 step program – methods of karma which are known as Buddism or Zen.
One of the methods to work towards good karma is the practice of yoga. The word yoga means union or to be joined. There are three main types of yoga, Hatha yoga and Japa yoga (physical and breathing exercises, along with mantras - chanting of the names of gods), both are coupled with TM (transcendental mediation) to become one with yourself and the universe as the desired state of conscious liberation. Kundalini yoga is by far the most telling and dangerous in practice; it is salvation through the Serpent’s Power.
It is taught that the kundalini shakti, or serpent power, lies coiled and dormant at the base of the spine and when awakened, slithers up through the energy regions, known as chakras. Once the serpent power reaches the head or top, known as sahasrar, there the yogi attains power and liberation.
The yogi is taught that rather than worshipping God that this exercise is the experience of God. Satan seeks to take what God values most, to be one with our souls. The Serpent of Old both wants and seeks to dwell in our inner sanctum – which leads us to the teachings of avatars, the incarnations of deities (demons) in the material realm, preferably through people. These deities can appear to open souls in whatever illusional form desired. Hmmm, experiencing God as a coiled snake at the base of my spine, slithering up my energy regions to expand my thoughts into enlightened knowledge, creativity and global harmony while hosting a demon spirit where we will all experience…nothingness! Nope, that is not holy!
Our inner realm is designed for the abiding Presence of God, not a slithering serpent! The TRUTH, rather than a system of works, that the Bible promised is that a very Personal God would Incarnate Himself to pay the debt of individual sinners so that we might know Him and be restored to Him in relationship!
There is no greater Advocate to the uniqueness of the human soul than God Himself, He prizes each soul as His unique fashion and our unique purpose in His will! And though we are influenced by generational propensities, He gives individuals the choice how to live their life, not the life of your recycled great, great, great grandmother who was a jerk – no, she doesn’t get to live your life – you get to live your life! God Himself gives us, as gifts from Him, the desires of our own heart and the Bible teaches us how to both enjoy and steward them! The Lord is Good and He is an absolute JOY to KNOW personally!
What is the purpose of mentioning all this - are we off point? Not at all! These concepts have become mainstream in our culture and are quietly slithering into the Western Church. Quaoting the Muktanada guru, “Kneel to yourself. Honor and worship your own being. God dwells within you as You”– twisted and partial truths enthroning “self” rather than our Holy God within the self -- big difference!
God’s original design for us is to be His Holy Temple, with Him dwelling within us! Individually and corporately as the Bride of Christ. Our new man is gloriously born again in His likeness, and we experience this as He transforms us from glory to glory – this is God’s design and plan for us – and it is an extraordinary experience! Rather than God dwelling in our temples, Satan has developed a methodology that hijacks this intended design and inverts it into partially true concepts to replace the pursuit of God through His truth and to become gods unto ourselves.
Same-o, same-o lie from the beginning -- you can be as God, separate from God --
no, you can not!
