The Word is the compression of the Kingdom of God into Seed form –
Sow the Word, and reap the Kingdom!
It’s interesting that the world defines enlightenment as embracing and accepting all pluralities as equal truths - that the one truth is that there are many truths, many gods, and many ways – that we are evolving as a cosmic consciousness, that there is no shame in embracing our urge to merge with the lusts of our flesh, to indulge the lust of our eyes and to promote our narcissistic expanded egos. That morality is an evolutionary process that is conditioned by culture and interpretation – not by absolute truths in right and wrong.
There are three types of humanism in the human condition that permeate our culture today, which are: secular, religious and spiritual -- all of which deny the deity and completed works of Jesus. All are relentless efforts to cool the throb of the inner consciousness of guilt and shame.
The Kingdom of God, however, is just the opposite, we are offered freedom from sin. We are enlightened with the surety of absolute Truth, which defines what is right and wrong. By voluntary choice, we enter into a divisionary process for the purpose of God’s greater creation -- being born again to our restored god-like shining, righteous identity with a mission to multiple!
This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. Eph 4:17-23
From beginning to end, the Scriptures reveals this divisionary process of being called out of the world (the concealment of God’s truth through the rule of the Serpent’s admixture of good and evil) back into the realm of God’s Kingdom where His absolute truth can be known and experienced – in crystal clarity!
Jesus did not eliminate this process, but offered, if we so choose, to cleanse our conscience through the gracious gift of His atonement to allow the re-internalized Word and access into His enlightened shining realm of clarity, the Kingdom of His glorious Light!
The promise of the New Covenant, friend, was that God would re-write His Word on our hearts (conscience). God’s Truth has not changed from the beginning, nor will it. What has changed (or not changed) is our relation to His Truth – our perspective.
In plain and simple terms, the Law was to reveal God’s Nature and how far we fell from His Nature. In seeing, comprehending and perceiving Who He Is, we see the contrast of who we are. It is this very contrast that teaches us our need for Him. God’s intent by the Law was not to reveal that we fell from the dos and don’ts of Heaven, but that we fell from Him...and our idendity in Him!
When the Law prohibits lying, it is not because of a rule in Heaven, but because God IS Truth! By requiring consequences for our actions, it sets the responsibility of our actions squarely at the heart of our choices – irrespective of Old or New Testament. Whether we believe in the atonement that would come or the atonement that has come – we must choose to walk by and through the vehicle of faith!
…since there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith. Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law. Rom 3:30, 31
God authorized our free choices within the governing body of cause and effect before the fall, after the fall and after the cross. God has once again given us through the cross the authority equal to the responsibility in making a choice – He didn’t de-authorize our responsibility through the cross but re-authorized us – get to make right choices if we so choose! From this basic understanding of the origins of God’s Word, lets try to understand the basic structure of the Law and see if we can’t recognize our Beloved!
