While sharing with a friend my desire to write about the Seven Feasts of the Lord pictured in the Jewish Wedding as our fulfilled salvation as well as our role in these last days, I was stunned to hear her response! She replied with a question,
“Why? What is the relevance of teaching or understanding the Feasts when they are in the Old Testament, or for that matter, the Old Testament at all? As New Testament believers, why do we need to know this? Don’t you think that’s a little legalistic?"
This response genuinely pained me, not because my friend had any intention to belittle me or the content – but it was a heart-felt and sincere question that unfortunately echoes in what has become much of the Western Church’s mentality towards the full counsel of God presented in both the Old & New Testaments. It is like an American claiming their rights, freedom, and liberty, but wondering why the Constitution is such a big deal! We have more Bible in this age than any other age in history, however the Western Church is Bible poor!
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Tim 3:17
Therefore, I wrote Section One, The Law 101 for Christians, in hopes of providing a big picture perspective on why the Old and New Testament collectively are relevant to the New Testament believer. In fact, did you know that ALL of the admonishments in the New Testament to study Scripture were directing us to the Old Testament -- the New Testament was not even canonized yet! The New Testament is the validating witness to the Old Testament’s promises.
In addition, my hope is to inspire a greater quest into the inexhaustible heights of revelatory truths laden in Scripture -- it is a journey you will not regret!
Many of us in the Christian church experience a gap, a question, an unreconciled question that has been regurgitated throughout the last two millennia – strongly debated, fiercely defended yet rarely understood – the question, “What is the New Testament believer’s relationship to the Law – has the Law ended?” Read more...
The Personal Name of God, which is written over 6,800 times in Scripture, pretty much tells it all! It is written as a tetragrammaton of the Hebrew letters Yod Hey Vav Hey which is translated in English, YHWH. In the history of language, these letters first were written as pictorial letters, which means Hand Behold Nail Behold -
Have you ever considered that if we speak against God’s Word in either the Old or New Testament then we are speaking against Jesus Himself? Jesus referred to Himself as the Self Existent One (YHVH), “I Am,” said Jesus. Mark 14:62 Read More...
God, by His spoken Word, brought the Light of Reality into existence -- He then moved in a divisionary process for the sake of multiplication. We need to take note of this because it is His MO (mode of operation), throughout His creative pattern... Read more...
Have you ever considered what we looked like before the fall? We were created in His likeness. When God breathed His Breath of Life into us, we became living souls. A living soul prior to the fall was a much higher state of being than what we know and experience today. Prior to the fall, we were beaming beings... Read more...
Have you ever been in a room with someone who was emitting a beautiful perfume or cologne and then that person left, yet the room was still filled with the fragrance of that person? That is a great metaphor... Read more...
It’s good to know, beloved, that the voice of doubt and temptation was first external to us, it was not internal! What did the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil symbolize? The Hebrew word for knowledge is daath, which is taken from the root word yada, which means to know intimately – to become one. Read more...
Woman, did something remarkably different than Adam – she without excuse or blame, straight-up confessed!
The Lord God said to the Woman, “What is this that you have done?” And the woman said, “The serpent deceived me and I ate.” Gen 3:13
Woman accepted personal responsibility for both being deceived AND her actions, plain and simple. Read more...
If we could see and hear the Word of God externally, written on whatever external medium, whether two tablets of stones, the collective printed pages of a Bible, or electronically viewed on our ipads and iphones – it is still external knowledge. Though we come into agreement with it, it’s not enough for God to re-enter our inner sanctum or us to enter His.
It’s interesting that the world defines enlightenment as embracing and accepting all pluralities as equal truths - that the one truth is that there are many truths, many gods, and many ways – that we are evolving as a cosmic consciousness, that there is no shame in embracing our urge to merge... In concert with the principle of origins, the lens of types and shadows magnifies our view even more through the telescope of Scripture. Types & Shadows – the prefigurement or outlined silhouette of a person, institution, office, action or event. Read more...
Consider how God would bring us back to clarity, and to do so by our free-will choice, once we fell into the realm of our perceptions darkened in confusion and doubt. We will see God’s benevolent effort to illuminate us again. Think of the shining Light of God in His Kingdom to be like brilliant white light. Our natural eye can not see it, detect it or perceive it. However, when beamed through a prism, white light is fractured (divided)... Read more...
God’s Mosaic Law did not begin as a list of dos and don’ts, but with a choice to be in a relationship with Him. God made a marriage proposal to Israel, and she chose to accept. God then set forth a covenant, His relational code of order, to ensure the marriage’s purity. Read more...
The word mitzvah in Hebrew is translated commandment. However, its deeper root meaning is taken from the word tzavta, which means to be connected or on the same team. This is fundamental and core to understanding the Spirit of the Law vs the letter of the Law. The entire point of a mitzvah, or commandment, is to be on the same team... Read more...
The Ceremonial Law was a code of order revealing how to approach, worship and be married to the Holy One! God required in the Mosaic Law an earthy tangible code of order to reveal His greater Heavenly code of order. The true

As we have seen, the Mosaic Law is indeed a type and shadow of the greater code of order in the Heavenly Kingdom. Seemingly, this would be an extraordinary and resourceful tool for any spiritual navigator! Why then, do New Testament believers have a pshaw perspective of the Old Testament? Good question! In strict allegorical terms, consider your entire debt of sin over a lifetime adding up to $0.01. And all the sin in the world’s history adds up to $20 (obviously your sin was the most expensive throughout the ages). Then consider the SUPREMACY OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS would equate to something like $700 trillion – an extraordinary over-compensation for the debt owed! Read more...
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law …having become a curse for us… Gal 3:13
Another misunderstanding is that the curse is from Satan. It is natural to come up with
our own dramatized storylines when we start in the middle. However, we won’t do that,
we will be diligent to practice the principle of origins to understand the curse. To the very heart of the point, God, not Satan, designed the curse. Read more...
Have you ever considered that disobedience entered the Garden of Eden through the Serpent, yet nothing was defiled (made unclean) until Man and Woman disobeyed God’s Word? It is the same today: evil may exist all around us, but it doesn’t defile until we cooperate with it to violate God’s code of order!
Jesus did become the curse of the Law and the end of the Law unto all righteousness – so lets try and understand the righteousness that He was bringing – was it something different from the Law? Some think that Jesus was a cool, layed-back Jewish hippie who was anti-order and against the establishment of His day. This is an incorrect view of Him. Read more...
When we become born again, and we must be born again, God literally creates a new divine nature within us, our new man, giving us both our citizenship in Heaven as well as new DNA! We quite literally have become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus – which is an astounding thought! Read more...
The late Derek Prince once said that the witness of a Christian is to reveal the spiritual unseen world. To witness means to attest, give testimony, to a fact in reality that is not readily seen or known. He had just experienced the Heavenly realm and he was about to give a witness in the earthly realm of the heavenly pattern, Read more...
Open my eyes, that I may see Wondrous things from Your law. Ps 119:18

Barbara Mouser’s work, Five Aspects of Woman, what I consider a theological masterpiece in biblical gender studies, tells of a moment in her childhood when she asks her father, “What is woman?” Her father paused and said, “Woman was a good idea!”
