What's in Our Roots

Just for fun, let’s take a root test. Is the Church separate from Israel? If you answered, “No’” then your root system is intact. If you answered “Yes,” then your roots are most likely tangled up in what the Bible calls Mystery Babylon and are an innocent victim of what I call an evolved Gentile-centric worldview.

Gentile-centric could read as provocative language, or even scarier yet, that our roots could somehow be entangled with Mystery Babylon! My intentions are not to offend or even make accusations, but rather to provoke us to question our Gentile-centric worldview. The problem is not that there are Gentiles grafted into the already existent Israel of God - that is the fulfillment of prophecy – but the presence of an exclusively Gentile-centric church that has replaced the Israel of God, God’s Elect from the beginning - that is a problem, and it is a big problem! To the point, it is an incorrect view.

When and where exactly did we get the belief that the Church was completely separate from Israel, with the exception of a few Jews sprinkled here and there? Through the last two millennia we have evolved away from the graciousness of God inviting Gentiles as adopted sons and daughters, joint heirs, equal citizens into the Commonwealth of Israel, the ONE True Family of God as the One New Man and evolved into a completely separate Gentile-centric church.

We all know the satire joke of a man selling ocean front property in the desert, the irony of that joke is that there is no ocean front property in the desert! The seller takes advantage of the buyer’s ignorance and desire by selling the image of a nice ocean front property. This is a great example of just how Satan has masterminded deception for millennia and he is able to do so easily when we don’t know the truth.

If a thief wanted to exchange counterfeit money with you, would you know the difference? If you have been trained what to look for, you probably would not be fooled, but if not trained, then you most likely would both receive it and spend it – not because you were bad or intentionally using counterfeit money,  but because you simply could not tell the difference. 

The truth is, we would not choose counterfeit money or ocean front property in the dessert if we saw it for what it really was, thus Satan’s need to deceive and lie. The number one way that Satan gains access is by hijacking good to work his evil agenda – he sells the perception and image of good.

Satan, once Lucifer, is in a twisted mess of envy towards God. He wants to be like God, what God has and what God does – but he can not have it! Not because God is some how a meany who created this ugly serpent, but because Satan chose ugly. It was not enough for him to be a beautiful created high ranking arch angel in the purposes of God, no, he wanted to be his own god – independent from God and so God let him. Lucifer chose rebellion and fell into the ugly of Satan – he is a counterfeit and is obsessed with replacing God’s truth and glory with his own.

Throughout Scripture we see his unceasing effort to replace God’s truth with his own parody,

Jesus is Lord, he wants to be lord

Jesus is King, he wants to be king

Jesus has a bride (the Bride of Christ), he wants a bride (Harlot, Mystery Babylon)

Jesus has a Kingdom, he wants a kingdom

Jesus has a mark for His People, he wants a mark for his people (mark of the Beast)

We can easily see the Satan’s parody when written out in black and white, but we are not so clever when it is being concealed. We will look at Church history, but as we have learned, beginning in the middle of a story makes us prone to our own dramatized endings. By employing the principle of origins, we will understand the origins of Mystery Babylon and it’s beginning, how it developed and how to detect its very effective template both in the ages past and the present.

Understanding the origin of our enemy and his campaign of counterfeit replacement patterned throughout all of history, hopefully, we will be able to source and sort the mindsets that bring unspoken and uncontested confusion. 

But first, let’s make we are measuring by the plum-line of The Lord our God, and that He Is One!
