TONIGHT is a very special night!
The Lord's Feasts represent Sacred Spaces of time where we become aware of one state of being and are invited into another state of being in the sojourn of human consciousness. For the people of God this happens in cyclical patterns of growing from one state of glory to the next.
Though by invitation in the moment into movement, most of us are motivated in this process when God pulls the curtain on the reality of our present state. Passover is one of the Feasts that exemplifies this explicitly!
Passover is really three Feasts that are demonstrated as ONE seven day Feast -- The first Passover (Death), second Unleavened Bread (Burial) and third Feast of First Fruits (Resurrection) -- but there is more to the story -- the seventh day!
Within the Exodus story we are technically still within the borders of Eygpt, from our initial leaving of Eygpt proper - a week's hike - until the seventh day. During this time, unbeknownst to us, there is the angry galloping army of Pharaoh coming right at us!
God purposefully has the Children of Israel camp by the sea directly across from a highpoint that represented a memorial to the Unknown Idol of Destruction to the North.
It's a set up.
The intimidating Unknown Idol to the North on one side, the furious approach of Pharaoh's galloping army on the other side, and our backs up against a great big wall of natural or even unimaginable reality of the IMPOSSIBILE! Welcome to God's sacred space!
The curtain is lifted on the reality of the moment however there are different perspectives of what that reality is in the moment. The Lord is about to manifest His perspective to both the Egyptians who thought this to be an easy peasy slaughter and fearful Israel who also thought they were easy peasy slaughter potentials -- here God is going to reveal to those present, and generations to come, His manifest Reality that there is,
One Lord
One Body
One Spirit
One Hope
One Faith
One Baptism (as a type)
One God and Father Who is above ALL
It is an absolutely necessary sacred space to understand the reality of our finite capacity and believe in the One True God's Infinite and Powerful Presence!
Otherwise we are enamoured with the illusion of our own self importance and abilities, we will flirt endlessly with the idols of our own making with which we have enthroned all while naively unaware we have an enemy who is eagerly stampeding towards us. This moment of disillusionment is a gift to motivate us into HIS HOLY REALITY!
My brother Kent once said, "When people can not tolerate uncertainty, they return to their default behaviors!" I have keep that counsel tucked in my heart!
The word transformation is made up of two words,
trans: to crossover
formation: to form someone/something NEW
The journey of transformation is learning to grow comfortable within the sacred space of all our in-between uncertainties -- daunting realities that are galloping towards us, useless and ridiculous idols that have no power but that which we enthrone them with -- there, right there in the middle of alllllllll thattttttt - God gently and quietly invites us to KNOW HIM as our One Savior!
SO THAT we by faith can tolerate life's uncertainty in the experience of God's Personal deliverance and blessing towards us!
He is IN that sacred moment calling us into sacred movement from one OLD state of being into a NEW state of being!
It's God Who splits seas, Beloved, but we get to walk through them, leaving one state and entering a new state, realizing the certainty of God's Presence and promises to us!
We ascend in patterns of glory!
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same Image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Cor 3:18
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the Presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, Who ALONE is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen. Jude 1:24, 25
By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry ground; but when the Eygptians tried to do so, they were drowned.
Hebrews 11:29
